Between Days. Literally.

So, what am I doing at almost twelve in the evening/morning? I'm looking up how to make more convincing characters, of course. Because my brain, when it comes to the worlds of possibilities I've opened up with this new plot line for Aesop's story will not shut up. So, thus I am worried about creating not only believable characters but strong and convincing ones. Here are three good articles that I've read. Everyone has, and is, entitled to their own opinion.

The Thing About To-Do Lists

To-Do lists:
Are helpful when your brain won't remember anything.
Are helpful when you know that there is NO way you are getting everything done in one day.
Are helpful when you are feeling a little bit lazy.
Are helpful motivators.

BUT:
Lists can be slightly counterproductive because it is way too easy to get overwhelmed.

When I was looking around for quotes on to-do lists and found this really cool one(including the artsy doodles):

If you do this you, shouldn't have any problems with the but. 🙂

And Yet Another Back Cover

So, you know how I told you that my front cover took me like 500-1,000 steps? So, my back cover apparently decided to carry over its predecessors traits. It took me that many steps and like eight different copies or so. You can see the final product if you go here: http://www.lulu.com/shop/chloe-st-clair/redemption/paperback/product-23451388.html.

And then, under the cover image click preview and click to the back. I think that it looks awesome.

PRINNNNT BOOOOOK is done.

If you want the print book, it is FINALLY done. You can get it here: http://www.lulu.com/shop/chloe-st-clair/redemption/paperback/product-23451388.html

REDO DEMPTION

If the title of this post doesn't explain itself, you may want to look at it a little harder. I have never done so many versions of one document in my life! It's amazing the differences between an ebook on one website and a print book on another. There are so many different stipulations and demands. I'm not kidding you when I say that in the life of this one document, it has been changed 50 times. And it feels like most of those have been in the last two months. I still have a ton of marketing to do. Very, very, very tired. 😒

My Current Project

For those of you out there who are interested in what I might write next, here's the prologue from the next book I'm working on. It is called The Purest Heart.

The church tower bell clanged, the raucous timber causing light to flood into all of the dark windows of the town. Women and men called to each other through suddenly un-shuttered windows, desperate to find out what danger was upon them.
In the moonlight, two figures, moving in opposite directions, slipped into the shadows of the great church building. Murmurs spread through the windows. Piece by piece a message formed. "The princess has gone missing. No one knows how and there's no sign of her." A young man slipped out of the shadows, terror written across his face. He ran. Down alleyways, through slim moonbeams, and yet still he ran. The other shadow moved until the light revealed his face. Face tilted, he looked up toward the steeple and smiled.

I'm taking another one of my 'finished' stories that I wrote when I was younger and upgrading it. I'm about seven pages into the process, and it's kind of boggling my mind just how much the story has matured. I'm really hoping that this book won't take me as long as Redemption did, but I'm pretty commited to writing a little bit more every night. Please leave a comment and tell me what you think.

Official Announcement

Today is the day! My parents are going to announce the publishing of the book (to their Facebook friends). The nerves inside of me are going haywire. I don't know if I am going to be able to take all of this stress. My granny always says, and I quote, "This too shall pass."

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along this very long journey. At seven o' clock last night I finally got my blog to a point where I could be completely sastified with it and I was relaxed. Then, this morning, Mom hit me with the fact that she and my dad were going to post the announcement on Facebook. Everything in me screamed 'I'm not ready!" Honestly though, I'm not sure I will ever be ready.

MY BOOK IS HERE!!!

So I got my first book published today! Four long, long years in the making and finally it's here! I almost feel like I've been carrying a baby around in my head for all of these years, and it's finally been birthed!

Here's a short synopsis for all of my readers: Sally Buchanan hates the color pink, and she has ever since she was bullied by Crystal three years ago. A day before Sally's 13th birthday, she finds out her mother has secretly planned an entirely pink party and, even worse, invited Crystal. Wishing for blue, her favorite color for three years, Sally and her best friend Jamie navigate the perilously pink road to the dreaded 13th birthday party.

You can buy my book at Smashwords.com for $2.99. I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it. For all of you out there that have supported me on this journey, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

P.S. I have another story in the making so don't get too comfy with this one. 😊
