It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Winter

I woke up this morning and it was snowing!! It's really light and powdery, but has that just right amount of wetness that makes it good snowball/snowman weather. We probably have about 4-5 inches. It's supposed to stop at 6 inches, but it doesn't really look like it's going to. Even though I hate the amount of sunshine we get in the winter, snow just makes it all better. And brighter.

Welcome to my front yard!

Turtle Bars

So last night I made turtle bars for the first time. Even though the recipe required a lot of butter and sugar, their yumminess made it worth it. To me, at least. Next time though, I'll probably make a smaller amount. The one thing I would do differently with the actual recipe is not have a 'crust' part. You can definitely taste the flour. 😬.

My Current Project

For those of you out there who are interested in what I might write next, here's the prologue from the next book I'm working on. It is called The Purest Heart.

The church tower bell clanged, the raucous timber causing light to flood into all of the dark windows of the town. Women and men called to each other through suddenly un-shuttered windows, desperate to find out what danger was upon them.
In the moonlight, two figures, moving in opposite directions, slipped into the shadows of the great church building. Murmurs spread through the windows. Piece by piece a message formed. "The princess has gone missing. No one knows how and there's no sign of her." A young man slipped out of the shadows, terror written across his face. He ran. Down alleyways, through slim moonbeams, and yet still he ran. The other shadow moved until the light revealed his face. Face tilted, he looked up toward the steeple and smiled.

I'm taking another one of my 'finished' stories that I wrote when I was younger and upgrading it. I'm about seven pages into the process, and it's kind of boggling my mind just how much the story has matured. I'm really hoping that this book won't take me as long as Redemption did, but I'm pretty commited to writing a little bit more every night. Please leave a comment and tell me what you think.

Official Announcement

Today is the day! My parents are going to announce the publishing of the book (to their Facebook friends). The nerves inside of me are going haywire. I don't know if I am going to be able to take all of this stress. My granny always says, and I quote, "This too shall pass."

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along this very long journey. At seven o' clock last night I finally got my blog to a point where I could be completely sastified with it and I was relaxed. Then, this morning, Mom hit me with the fact that she and my dad were going to post the announcement on Facebook. Everything in me screamed 'I'm not ready!" Honestly though, I'm not sure I will ever be ready.

My "Babies"

I took the time to replant all of my herbs today. I was finally calmed down enough to do so. I like to affectionally refer to them as my 'babies' so please don't be confused if I say that in the future. Rest assured, I do not have any kids. 😀

Here's a picture of how they look now. I'm definitely watching the parsley seedlings, since they have been looking a little sick lately. The basil seedlings, though they only have a few leaves, are very aromatic. I can't wait till they get bigger, they are going to be so yummy.

Book Cover

This thing, though I will admit it looks a tad bit cartoony, took me at least six hours with the paint tool on the computer. I'm so proud of this and, most importantly, it's done. 😁

MY BOOK IS HERE!!!

So I got my first book published today! Four long, long years in the making and finally it's here! I almost feel like I've been carrying a baby around in my head for all of these years, and it's finally been birthed!

Here's a short synopsis for all of my readers: Sally Buchanan hates the color pink, and she has ever since she was bullied by Crystal three years ago. A day before Sally's 13th birthday, she finds out her mother has secretly planned an entirely pink party and, even worse, invited Crystal. Wishing for blue, her favorite color for three years, Sally and her best friend Jamie navigate the perilously pink road to the dreaded 13th birthday party.

You can buy my book at Smashwords.com for $2.99. I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it. For all of you out there that have supported me on this journey, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

P.S. I have another story in the making so don't get too comfy with this one. 😊
